I am a second-generation Angeleno, who worked as a tutor, office worker, and florist while earning my bachelor’s degree in International Relations and in German as a scholarship student at the University of Southern California (2004). I spent 2005-2006 on scholarship studying political science in Germany at the Free University of Berlin, before earning my Master’s in International Peace Studies at Notre Dame (2008). I came home to LA to study law at Loyola Law School, earning my JD in 2011 and passing the bar that summer.

Since 2014, I have been a workers’ rights attorney, first with Cesar Chavez’s United Farm Workers of America in the San Joaquin Valley, and later with private law firms, representing California employees in state and federal courts and in arbitration. I fight for employees who allege labor rights violations and have helped obtain millions of dollars in settlements from employers for low-wage Californians working in fruit and vegetable fields, restaurants, warehouses, and other industries.

I’m fluent in Spanish and worked for several years in Guatemala defending and teaching human rights as a Loyola Public Interest Law Fellow in 2011-2013, and then as a Fulbright Public Policy Fellow in 2016-2017, as a Special Advisor for Disability Rights in the Office of Guatemala’s Ombudsperson for Human Rights.

In my free time, I enjoy practicing yoga and going to the movies, as well as camping and boating with my spouse and daughter.
