Margarita Deroyan

Accountant

I began working in accounting in 2018 as an intern while finishing my degree at Woodbury University. After graduating with a degree in accounting in 2019, I continued in the field and spent the next several years gaining hands-on experience in public accounting. I had the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients—from individuals and small businesses to large corporations—handling everything from tax preparation and financial statement analysis to day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll and client advising. These experiences gave me a strong foundation in both technical skills and client service, and a deeper understanding of how businesses operate from the inside out.

In March 2023, I joined D.Law and knew right away that I had found the right place. From the start, I felt a strong connection to the firm’s mission, values, and collaborative environment. Being part of a team that not only supports its clients but also invests in its people has made the work especially meaningful. Today, I focus on private accounting—managing internal financial operations, optimizing systems, and supporting the firm’s long-term strategic goals as we continue to grow.

I was born in Armenia and hold dual citizenship, which keeps me closely connected to my heritage. I make it a point to visit every year—sometimes more than once. I also love discovering new parts of the world, and I set a personal goal to visit at least one new country each year. Travel is one of my biggest passions and gives me a fresh perspective and sense of inspiration both personally and professionally.

📓 Fun fact

I’ve been playing piano for over 15 years and have been singing for as long as I can remember. Even though I get stage fright, I’ve performed in front of large audiences—reminding myself every time that stepping out of your comfort zone is always worth it when you’re doing something you love.
