Josette Soto

Summer Associate

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the University of California, Merced and I am currently a second-year law student at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in Chicago. At Northwestern, I serve on the executive board of the Latine Law Students Association and as an associate editor of the Northwestern Journal of Law and Social Policy. Additionally, I volunteer with Chicago Public Schools by teaching high students about their legal rights through Northwestern’s Street Law organization. During law school I have worked as a law clerk for the Cook County Public Guardian’s Office and a legal extern for the Invisible Institute.

Growing up, my mother was a workers’ rights activist, so I am profoundly inspired to champion for employment justice and empower others this summer at D.Law. During my free time, I enjoy thrifting, visiting museums, roller-skating, watching reality television series, and hosting gatherings with my friends and family!

📓 Fun fact

During the gap year between my undergraduate and law school career, I taught middle school English in Central California.
