I have been honored to serve for over 20 years as a civil litigator with comprehensive experience in employment law, representative and class actions, intellectual property, and business matters in all California state and federal courts. I am also licensed to practice in Ohio.

I graduated cum laude from Whittier Law School where I served as Executive Editor of the Whittier Law Review, was a Scribes Award winner, and served as a judicial extern to the Honorable David G. Sills, presiding justice of the California Court of Appeal, 4th District, Division 3. I began clerking full time for a well-respected intellectual property firm in Los Angeles and upon graduation, I continued to practice for eight years there and in San Francisco prosecuting and defending patent infringement actions and litigating intellectual property matters.

I have focused since 2010 on employment law and have been the senior attorney responsible for day-to-day litigation of wage and hour class and PAGA representative actions on behalf of California employee class members and aggrieved employees. I have also served as counsel in wrongful termination and FEHA type discrimination cases. I have certified contested class actions and secured settlements for many millions of dollars for our clients in hundreds of cases. I have drafted amicus briefing before the California Supreme Court and have litigated cases through all phases of the state and federal appellate process, and I am well-versed in arbitrating individual wrongful termination, discrimination, and wage and hour claims.

Prior to attending law school, I graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, where among other things I was a radio West Point disc jockey and sang in the glee club. After graduation and commissioning, I served as an Army Officer for 10 years in the Corps of Engineers in various stateside and overseas postings. I served as a combat engineer company commander and am a veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. I also served in the Army Reserves and advanced to the rank of Major.

I enjoy being an attorney, especially being a complex civil litigator focusing on class and representative action proceedings. I value the fact that what we do is a profession, and I value the professional relationships I have developed with my clients, my fellow Plaintiffs’ counsel, and the attorneys from the well-respected corporate defense firms we litigate against. I endeavor each day to come from a place of gratitude and to be present in and appreciative of every moment I am blessed to experience. I was born and raised in the Cleveland, Ohio area, and enjoy the agony and occasional ecstasy of being a life-long Ohio sports fan. I otherwise enjoy traveling and having good times and quoting movie lines with my friends and family, including spending time with my amazingly wonderful daughter, Alexis.

📓 Fun fact

I received my West Point diploma from Vice President Dan Quayle and was then stationed in Germany when the Berlin Wall fell.
