Alexis Villa Torres

Southwestern Law School

I am thrilled to be joining D.Law as a Summer Associate as part of their NextGen Academy Summer Program. I graduated from the University of California, Irvine in three years which allotted me additional time to gain experience in the legal field before entering law school. I spent nearly two years working as a law clerk working on plaintiff-side mass tort and personal injury cases. I am now in my second year at Southwestern Law School, where I am a teaching assistant for Civil Procedure and Legal Writing, and an editor for the Law Review.

My commitment to plaintiff-side litigation is very personal. I am a first-generation college and law student from South Central Los Angeles. I have spoken with hundreds of people in my community and clients alike who have dealt with the struggle of receiving validation for their harm. Workplace injuries are more than just physical ones. All workers are deserving of dignity and fair treatment, regardless of job title or wages. I am grateful for the opportunity to apply these values and work with a firm who has an extensive history of success and genuine care for their clients.

📓 Fun fact

I was a drummer in a Cumbia band for a few years.
