Originally from Chicago, I came to California to attend Pepperdine University School of Law. I spent my legal career in general civil litigation, on both the defense and plaintiff side, and have extensive experience litigating cases and taking them all the way through trial and arbitration. While specializing in single action plaintiff’s side employment cases, I also have experience with a wide range of legal subject matters including, wrongful death, personal injury, premises liability, public entity defense, insurance coverage, and bad faith claims.
Before attending law school, I was an active duty Sergeant in the United States Army. I had a distinguished career in Military Intelligence, including support operations for Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. I was a primary staff officer for my unit’s information security unit and advisor to the Battalion Commander. I started my battalion’s martial arts and hand-to-hand combat training program. I was also the team leader for the Commanding General’s daily intelligence briefings.
I attended Pepperdine University School of Law, earning ,my J.D. in two years. In law school, I externed for Associate Justice John Segal of the California Court of Appeal and clerked at the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office for both the Victim Impact Program and the Major Crimes Division. I was a member of the Moot Court and Trial Teams, was a finalist in the Moriarity Moot Court Competition, won best brief in the UCLA Cyber Crimes Moot Court Competition, and was awarded the Honors Trial Advocate Award at Pepperdine. I served on the executive board of the Veteran Legal Society and was a student mentor.
Since graduating, I have helped coach both the Pepperdine trial team and moot court team, and serve as preceptor/mentor to current law school students. I have also taught as an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University, teaching Business Law to undergraduates.
My pro bono work has included working with the LACBA Veterans Legal Aid Clinic, the OneJustice Justice Bus, and Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles.
Outside of the office, I enjoy basketball, martial arts, reading, exercising, hiking, and most of all, spending time with my family.
After competing on a national karate team and winning an international tournament, at 16 years old, I trained professional and armature fighters in striking, including the national amateur welterweight kickboxing champion.
