D.Law Named One of the Top Law Firms in Los Angeles County
Labor and employment attorneys specialize in matters involving disputes between employers and employees. These tend to be complex issues because of the multitude of federal, state and local laws that govern wages and benefits. For example, California’s statewide minimum wage increased to $16.90 per hour as of January 1, 2026, but several counties and cities have set higher wages and there are also increases for employees in certain industries such as fast food workers.
Several firms among the top 25 expanded over the past year. D.Law announced a major step in its ongoing evolution by consolidating operations and moving to a new, recently completed headquarters in Pasadena to bring its employees together into a unified environment.
Meanwhile, Melmed Law Group expanded by opening an office in Michigan. The office extends its employee-side law practice beyond California, with founder Jonathan Melmed remaining directly involved in leadership and case oversight across both offices. The firm advises on matters involving wage and hour violations, workplace discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination and whistleblower claims.
Overall, the 25 largest labor and employment practice groups in Los Angeles County reported 923 attorneys for the specialty in local offices, which included 327 partners.
